La vista diaria y desde el Parque de Paz, mi barrio |
I have officially been in Costa Rica for over a month, and could only wish that time would slow down. I have successfully finished my first Spanish course with flying colors, and have taken my midterm for my second course. I have not only begun my elective courses, but I have also landed an internship for the rest of my stay here. I am working with my professor at the Center for Peace in downtown San José, which I am extremely excited for! I have also traveled through much of this beautiful country, and still cannot believe that I am actually here. I have many more mountains, beaches, and rain forests to explore within the next ten weeks along with soooo much more to learn. I would have to say that is one of my favorite things about being here, I am constantly learning. Learning the language, exploring new places, learning about people's stories, learning about social issues, but most importantly learning about myself. I truly believe I am a student of this world, and I have so much more to learn. I welcome this life with arms wide open. My only hope is to leave this world we live in better than what I found it or watched it become.
I suppose with this blog my hope is to be able to share with my loved ones back in the States about my adventures and thoughts while I am here in Costa Rica, as I know I am not the best with keeping up with everyone other than my sailor. I have much more to share but here is to the beginning. Please comment or feel free to email me! I would love to here from all of you! Until then, I send my love to you all.
con amor,
Danyelle Kara
